Ok so someone asked me

Okay. I know you aren't suppose to start a paragraph with that word but thats all i could think at that very moment. Someone asked me a question Via email. They wrote and i quote...

"Today I was looking through some pages and found an article about you elGortiz, online. I was amazed to find a 23 year old who has accomplished so much in such a little amount of time. I read about your mother and about how hard it was for you to grow up in that environment. But what i did not find in the article is "how" you did it all I am very curious as to what makes you tick, and if anything how can i follow in your foot steps? I know this sounds weird but i am 16 now and i have been watching your art work on deviantart for ages. So any advice at all, for a fan?

-Image23"

okay. wow. i really don't even know what to say. i mean honestly what does one say to that. and second WHAT ARTICLE? who on earth is writing about me. at first i was flattered, then it just turned to a little creepy not cuz of image23 but because someone wrote an article about me. and i cant find it :-( so I wrote image and hopefully i can get the answers to that. But, anyway, i guess i could try and explain this.

DONT TRY AND SUCCEED SO FAST. YOU ARE 16 ENJOY THE CHILDHOOD YOU HAVE.
I can not make that any clearer. I am the way i am because i was FORCED to grow up quick. i had my first job at 14. Most kids get there first job at 16 or even 17. So my childhood was wiped out. I really can not stress that enough. After my brother died i became my mothers guardian at the age of 14. So i was thrown into adult hood. With that in mind its really not a stretch as to how i got where i got. BUT if you want to succeed here are a few easy things to learn.

1- Before learning how to dress or even before knowing what it is you need to do in life you need to learn how to APPEAR confident, even if you are not. Talking to people as if you have known them for years is a plus. get rid of all slangs and lingo from your neighborhood or lingo between friends. So when speaking to an employer, co-worker or potential client. Learn how to do a firm handshake and always shake hands showing your watch. when you shake hands pump 2 or 3 times and never break eye contact and make sure its a firm handshake.

2- Now you want to learn how to dress, so read my blog before this one. Remember even if you dont have money $$ being confident to the point that it seems like you do equals power.

3- Now with those two steps taken care of now you want to work even more on your peoples skills. Best way to do that, believe it or not is to become a sales person. Find something that you have confidence in, and sell it. i do not mean sales as in retail, altho it is a good start. I mean sales as in industrial sales, or capital goods sales. But sales would be the best way to work on your people skills. This includes learning how to sale, where to sale, how to talk to officials above you, how to take getting shot down (this is very important), and learning how to manage money.

4- Once you feel you have succesfully learned everything you can learn in sales work on your passion. if its design, if its drawing, shit even if its shoes start on freelancing. and learn how to do multiple thinsg at once. multitasking is key to success. think multiple forms of income. never just work on one thing always work on more then one. it will equal to more $$

5- and dont give up

hopefully that helps. good luck
